Should Wake Boats be Banned?

New studies have shown the harm caused by wake boats

Wake boats have been involved in some serious studies about damaging lakes and waterways. Wake boats are different from traditional boats as they kick up the sediment on the bottom of the lake floor. This damages the homes of many aquatic wildlife and has an effect on bass and other fish migration patterns. However wake boat hobbyist argue that since it is legal they will continue to use these boats for recreational activity.

Wake boats have had a long standing feud with bass fisherman. Bass fisherman have been constantly annoyed by wake boats causing extreme wakes in fishing spots which disturb the fish living in the area. However with recent studies the fishermen might have scientific proof to ban wake boats for good. when mud is stirred up it makes areas less appealing for fish and makes them seek clear undisturbed water. Wake boats are also shown to disturb the vibrations in the water fish use to sense their surroundings.

Many lakes have started to ban wake boats as they have already done damage to the fishing on the lake. However the question is if they will be banned on a state or federal level.
